Meet The Team.

Anna Evans
Podiatrist and Clinical Director

Anna has significant experience having worked as a Podiatrist in the NHS, private sector and volunteered abroad.

She has held specialist roles within Diabetic Foot Care, Podiatric Surgery and Biomechanics, which makes her adept at wound care, managing foot and ankle pain and discussing foot surgery.

Outside of Podiatry she loves being active, including walking, scrambling, cycling and skiing. She also loves to travel and is a real foodie.

James Cowden
Podiatric Surgeon

James completed his undergraduate training in 2004 and has worked for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust since. He has worked in a multitude of speciality areas including nail surgery, the high risk foot and musculoskeletal. He undertook his surgical training, gaining fellowship in 2016 and taking up roles in both Sheffield and Birmingham as a Podiatric Surgeon, where he continues to work. He has lectured and presented at national and international conferences and has multiple publications.

His ultimate aim is to deliver a high standard of care to his patients in a friendly and supportive environment.

Away from work, he is a former hockey player turned umpire and enjoys sailing.

Within our clinic James specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of foot pain, including big toe joint pain, metatarsalgia, mid-foot pain, heel pain, including taping, exercise plans and injection therapy. He is also available to provide nail surgery and verruca needling.

Julia Moore
Podiatrist

Julia chose podiatry as a career having originally worked as a clinical support worker and after doing this for 7 years was keen to further her career. She had worked on a diabetes ward where she saw some of the complications of diabetes, particularly the feet.

The ward had specialist podiatrists to treat the patients on the wards and she was inspired to undertake her podiatry degree. She loves helping people and gets great satisfaction from freeing people from foot pain.

In her personal life, she enjoys spending time with her two children, socialising and going out for meals.

She specialises in general (routine) podiatry (chiropody). She is particularly good with cracked heels.

Claire
Podiatrist

Originally from Sunderland, Claire qualified as a podiatrist at Durham School of Podiatric Medicine. She has many years of experience in both the NHS and private sector, allowing her to confidently carry out a wide variety of podiatry treatments and therapies including nail surgery and reconstruction.

Very conscientious and thorough, Claire gets a great sense of accomplishment from seeing her clients walk away satisfied after their appointments.

She also appreciates the value of giving comprehensive and aesthetically pleasing podiatric treatments, and ensuring that every client leaves more aware, informed, and confident in their foot and lower limb health.

In her free time, Claire enjoys long muddy walks with her Springer Spaniel. She also enjoys photography, and playing guitar and is trying to master the art of knitting.

At home, she takes pleasure in the time spent with family and friends.

What Is A Podiatrist?

Podiatrist are Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered health professionals specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of the foot, ankle and associated structures. A Podiatrist must have completed either a diploma of chiropody (pre-2000) or a Bachelor of Science degree in Podiatry or Podiatric Medicine (BSc Hons) (after 2000) which is covered full time over 3 years in a University.
